We are in the Correze
The department of Correze forms part of the Limousin region of France. From the mysterious moors of the Millevaches plateau to the rolling hills of the Pays de Brive with its mild climate and verdant valleys, the Correze offers a great variety of landscapes. It is still relatively unknown as a holiday destination. Here's your chance to holiday in the green heart of France.

The Cook at Home

A gourmet dinner on the terraceFrom a picnic to a light and delicious lunch; or a healthy yet spoiling supper to a luxurious, fully indulgent, dinner - the choice of menu is yours. I am a very experienced cook and for the past few years we have been offering private dining and I have catered for special occasions and events.  My repertoire is large and includes cuisine from all over the world.  If you wish to eat at home without having to cook for yourselves I am available.  The price depends upon the kind of menu you require.  The choice will be entirely yours as to which part of the world you'd like to sample and what sort of ingredients you'd like used.  I am flexible and will try to give you an experience you will remember. All dietary requirements are catered for and I am very used to catering for people with allergies and other conditions.

Vegetarians are also most welcome. Cooking classes are also an option for both adults and children. 

Detox:  We also offer "detox" weeks when we provide every meal and concentrate on energising your body with food that nourishes and restores.  Whether you want to lose weight or just re-energise we will give you food that you will love with the added bonus of giving you the recipes to take home with you.  All dietary requirements will of course be catered for.  


First and last night, and special occasions

People often ask me to cook their first and last night dinner.  Also I have cooked for special occasions - and surprise meals.  The surprise element is easily managed as I prepare all the food in my own kitchen and then transport it to the cottage while you "distract" the subject of the celebration.  Et Voila!!!  I can make you meals that you finish off yourselves, or we can serve you.  You also get to choose which terrace you wish to eat on.  


Johan is quite knowledgeable about wine and has sourced a red, white and rosé, that we have as our "house" wine.  A stock of this is kept at the cottage for your use.  The price per bottle is the "cost price", and Johan selects the wines for around 5€ per bottle.  You can help yourselves and just pay for what you use.  When you order a meal Johan would also be happy to select some wines to accompany each course, again at cost price.

Christmas dinner at Saleix
A Saleix Christmas lunch. All homemade, even down to the cranberry sauce.

Gingerbread House
I had to put this on our website. Two of our christmas guests, Laura and Elspeth (an architect and a budding lawyer), made this gingerbread house. It was so beautiful - pure art. The cottage kitchen seems to be a creative haven.
